Pescado. If you have been, you know. It has a calming, soothing effect on one’s psyche. If a day on 30A isn’t enough to put you in a joyful mood, Pescado will bump you right into that jubilant spot. The restaurant and bar are located on the top floor (4th floor) of a building in Rosemary Beach. Four stories are the max height allowed on 30A (which prevents tall condo buildings on the beach) and allow a lovely view from the top floor. Seating is available outside on the patio at tables or facing the indoor bar. Inside, seating is available in a small dining room or at the bar which faces the Gulf. I’m partial to the bar. I love watching cocktails be crafted – AND YOU CAN SEE THE WATER! What is better than that? The windows are always open into the bar. I love the feeling of the salty air rushing over my face while I sip a delicious drink.

Pescado serves up seafood fare mostly, but other delicious dishes and craft cocktails are offered, too. The bartenders are well versed and well trained. Between them all, they have years of experience. This visit, I ordered the Honeymoon – Corazon Blanco Tequila, honeydew, Strega liqueur, and lime. A fine drink that was light, refreshing, and summery. Not sweet-tasting necessarily, but not too strong or forceful. My husband ordered the Porch Pounder – Suze liqueur, Roku gin, fennel, cucumber, mint, lime, and cava. While we laughed that it looked like a green smoothie, the ingredients were soothing and fresh.

We ordered the cheeseboard because I pretty much always order a cheese board. The board contained cheeses, a type of salumi, pate, pickled vegetables, mustard, and honey. Served with a basket of Lavash bread (hard, giant flatbread crackers). The cheeseboard provided two kinds of blue cheese, which I think was a little much to plate two types of blue cheeses, but everything else was delicious. The salumi was my favorite component. Perfectly cured and cut thinly. It was heavenly!

We also ordered the Yakisoba Stir-Fried Noodles and the Seafood Salad. The Noodles were delightful! The noodles were thick, chewy, and hearty. The noodles were fried up with a soy-and-Worcestershire-type of sauce with veggies including bok choy, red peppers, carrots, tofu, and onions. The Seafood Salad was fresh and substantial. A filling appetizer!

Pescado is the type of eatery and cocktail bar that appeals to your cutest dress or best button-down shirt. The vibe is grown-up and sophisticated. The service is top-notch. The décor is serene and lively rolled into one. The cocktails are cold and innovative. The food is upscale and fresh. Pescado is always worth the visit.

Notes:

o You must be 18 years old to enter - unless you visit for lunch or Sunday Brunch.

o After you visit Pescado, go downstairs to the first floor and visit The Courtyard at Pescado, a lovely piano bar with craft cocktails.

o Reservations are a must.
